Microsoft Access - Level 3

Prerequisite: Beyond the Basics of Database Management

Microsoft Access is an electronic database management program included in the professional version of Microsoft Office, and it is used for entering, storing, sorting, searching and manipulating data. Access allows you to create queries, as well as generate reports. This is an advanced class on Microsoft Access, and covers such topics as creating queries, forms, and reports. You’ll learn to create queries to extract information from a database, create and modify forms to facilitate data entry and viewing, as well as create and modify reports.

The class objectives include:

  • Create, run, and print a select query in Design view
  • Add multiple tables to a query
  • Create and run a query using the Simple Query Wizard
  • Add criteria statements to a query
  • Perform calculations in a query
  • Use aggregate functions in a query to calculate statistics
  • Create a form using the form wizard
  • Create a form with a subform
  • Move and resize control objects in a form
  • Modify properties of controls
  • Add objects using the Control Toolbox
  • Create and print a report using the report wizard
  • Move and resize controls in a report
